Five students from Akita Chuo Senior High School along with their teacher and vice principal visited Moanalua to meet with our students and discuss alternative energy progress in Hawaii as well as in their home town in Akita. Student government officers hosted them during their visit, and they also got a chance to make a presentation to Ms. Kobayashi's science class during Period 2. It was interesting to learn how they have similar strategies such as geothermal energy being that Japan is also a volcanic group of islands, but being far north means that solar panels are useless there. It was an excellent mutual learning experience!
