One of our most satisfying projects to date has to include today's invasive algae removal at Maunalua Bay! Together with Malama Maunalua and the Lions Club (and our own LEO Club), dozens of bags of invasive algae, a.k.a. Gorilla Algae, were removed from the bay and sent to a compost pile to become fertilizer. Under overcast skies and cool breezes, the environment cooperated and rain was held up until just before the end of the day with a light shower. As an unexpected surprise, lunch was provided by Gyotaku as the manager there is also a Lions Club member! Good weather + good friends + great lunch = awesome project!
