LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

4/17: SA STILL WORKING FOR YOU!

Yes!  The SA Officers are still working to make activities happen for you!

Earlier this month, we started the "mohs3x5 challenge" where you upload a video of yourself doing at least 5 push-ups, 5 sit-ups, and 5 squats.  Just a simple idea to get you up and exercising, however much you can.  But the CHALLENGE is that whoever does the MOST of everything combined will win a prize!  So for example, if you do 10 push-ups, 5 sit-ups, and 185 squats, that would be 200 points!  So obviously, do the most of whichever is easiest for you!  Deadline to post is April 30.  You can check out videos already uploaded on Instagram at #mohs3x5

The other event we have going on is that April is usually Mene Thanks time where you get a blank Mene Thanks form, write a note of thanks to a teachers or staffer, and drop off the form in the SA Room.  Well we obviously cannot do that.  SO....the officers have devised a way to do this online.  Just go to this link and fill out the form:  https://forms.gle/oukZ7RrYPQXArCG57   Just fill out the form following the instructions on it, and we will do the rest!  Deadline is April 27!

Hope you are all doing well at home.  Stay safe, keep social distancing, and do your school work, EVEN IF IT'S NOT GRADED!  You don't always need a reward to do good things!  We hope to see everyone soon!
