MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ACTIVITIES: "PUT OTHERS BEFORE YOURSELF!"

(L-R): Kristen Yamate, SCC Representative 1; Brandon Mendoza, SA Treasurer; Vivian Hui, SA Corresponding Secretary; Suzanne Tran, SA President; Arista Arii, Sophomore Class President; Miah Emerson, Junior Class President; Chris Pham, SA Clerk; Dwight Joo, SA Vice President; Jack Schwab, HSSC Representative; Kane Ruiz, SCC Representative 2; Nathan Smith, Freshman Class President; Kayla Gurtiza, SA Recording and Ryan Fielding, Senior Class President.

The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of thirteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

1/28: CHOOSE LOVE!

Choose Love!  A very appropriate theme for this year's peer education Program (PEP) Assembly!  As always, a variety of student entertainers spread this message through their acts to the rest of the student body.  Thank you to Advisor Wendy Botelho and all of her students as well as those from all of the performing arts groups including dance (Advisor Jill Tengan), and drama (Advisor Mark Ikenaga).
