LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

5/9: AWARDS ASSEMBLY YIELDS BOTH NORMALITY AND SURPRISES!

In addition to the awards, officers for next year were inducted by outgoing President Jamie Hwang (far right).  New officers include (l-r):  Rachelle Yang, Recording Secretary; Brooke Chinen, Treasurer; Crystal Fujiwara, Clerk; Jocelyn Yip, SCC Representative; Alyssa Kim, SCC Representative; and Devin Soogrim, President.  Unable to attend because of AP Testing or national trips:  Eunica Escalante, Vice President; Jeongbin Won, Corresponding Secretary; and Lei Lily Tam, HSSC Representative.
This year's Awards Assembly featured a record 62 award recipients receiving medals, certificates and trophies from various departments.  Many parents and other relatives were on hand to help celebrate with the students.  Thank you to everyone on staff who helped make it happen for all the individual award winners.  The L.E.O. Club was Organization of the Year for the TENTH year in a row!  The Class of 2015 repeated as Class of the Year, sharing the title with the Class of 2013 last year, then winning outright this year.  Congratulations to all the overall winners as listed below.
