LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

2/14: WEAR RED DAY FESTIVITIES!

Wear RED Day is usually held on the school day closest to Valentine's Day unless, of course, it IS Valentine's Day like today!  Today's festivities included a contest for the Period 1 with the highest percentage of students dressed in red, passing out treats during recess to everyone wearing red, and passing out any Happy Hearts sent during homeroom!  Hope you all have a very....

2/3: DRUG FREE ASSEMBLY AND CAREER DAY DRAWS A CROWD!

On a day when no academic classes were held, it would be easy to think that some students would take the day off!  But the crowded gym during the Drug Free Assembly proved otherwise!  The assembly featured dancers and singers to entertain everyone as well as an inspirational talk by a former Moanalua student now confined to a wheelchair because of a smoking related incident with an ex-boyfriend.  Following the assembly was the Career Fair, held in odd-numbered years, featuring dozens of professionals willing to share their thoughts and experiences with our students.  Thank you to the Peer Education students and Counseling Department for organizing this massive event!
