LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

12/6: SA HOLIDAY CHEER!

OK, to be politically correct, it's NOT a CHRISTMAS get together, but our annual holiday dinner does involve the exchanging of "secret" gifts, and it does take place in December so, call it what you will.  Bottom line is that we are able to get together for something other than a meeting or service project just to have fun.  At Makino Chaya, it's all you can eat, so that we did!  Hope you all enjoy the remaining days of school.  Study hard for exams!  From MOHSSA, we all wish everyone....
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

12/1: MENE HONORS AT WINTER RALLY!

While a pep rally usually honors athletic and academic accomplishments, the Winter Rally this year also included recognizing the cheerleaders who won the STATE Championship as well as First Hawaiian Bank's "Be the One" class level winners.  This is the first State Championship for the cheerleaders since coach Blossom Caballero was on the squad back in 2003.  It only goes to show that to win a State Championship, it truly helps that your coach also won and knows what it takes.  In addition, the First Hawaiian Bank "Be the One" awards for school service were given to Aimee Iwamoto (12), Jenny Lin (11), Temujin Chong (10), and Shareen Chee (9).  Congratulations to all!  Finally, the Winter Sports athletes were recognized to let everyone know they are in season and need support.  Best wishes to all Winter Sports athletes!
