LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

11/15-21: STUDENTS "LINK" THANKS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

Officers and volunteers join shorter homeroom links together!
Jannah and Dani start off the display near L-M Buildings!
Ryan and Krizchelle continue to Mene Square!
Final destination:  Cafeteria!

Last year was the first time trying "Links of Thanks" where students write for what they are thankful on a strip of construction paper, then make chain links with all the thanks.  It proved to be quite popular so we tried again this year.  And, while the record length of 195 yards was not broken, a large number of students still participated!  The cumulative chain was hung from L-M Buildings all the way to the cafeteria and Mene Square.  Thank you to all who participated and...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The Art Club lends its talents to refresh the Mene Square "M!"
Planter boxes get weeded and replanted as HaRim serves up snacks!
Volunteers take a break to get some refreshments!
Ms. Migita demonstrates bench painting to the Japanese Club!
Veterans' Day is a time to remember those who fought for our freedom throughout history.  At Moanalua, it is also a time to come together for the annual Campus Beautification effort.  This year's effort drew well over 200 participants.  There is no exact number only because 200 signed in but several others showed up at the athletic complex without signing in to do various tasks there.  Tasks such as redoing the "M," gum scraping, various repainting, landscaping, classroom louver cleaning, recycle bin cleaning, and other jobs were completed.  Thanks to all the administrators, advisors and their organizations for a job well done as well as to all who donated refreshments and supplies!

FIRST:  Shanice Francisco, Katryne Opiniano,
Rachel Sabio, and Isabelle Sayno

SECOND:  Jessica Cabusog

THIRD:  Sally Donnelly

Congratulations to ALL participants for giving such outstanding performances!  Other performers included Crystal Fujiwara; Alichka Basmayor, Nathan Higa, Edric Nam, and Peter Nguyen; Elisha Miyahira and Caitlyn Ramiscal; and Jacob Cadaoas and Jennifer Mead.  Special thanks also to Mr. Duane Suyama and the Talent Show Committee, and Mr. Johnny Kai from Brown Bags to Stardom.
