LEADERSHIP: IT'S NOT ABOUT REWARDS; IT'S DOING WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU!

2022 MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (above) The Moanalua High School Executive Council is made up of fifteen volunteers. VOLUNTEERS! While officers are elected, they choose to run knowing that if they win, there is no physical reward, no letter grade, no incentive other than the pure satisfaction of doing a good job and representing the student body. At times, we achieve great success while at other times, we achieve somewhat less, but it is always a learning process. While we can take away much satisfaction from doing a good job, we can also learn from mistakes and try to better ourselves the next time. And so, at the end of our terms, while we do not earn a credit, a letter grade or even a certificate of achievement proving our accomplishments, we can take away the self-satisfaction in knowing that we did our best for the students, school and community, and that positive experience is something we can really use as contributing adult members of society.

5/28: GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!

Yes, yes, we know it's a Pokemon reference, but it is also one of the goals we would like to achieve this coming year and that is, gotta catch ALL those potential school leaders and get them on the same page so that we can get the entire school more actively involved!  It starts with good leadership!  This year, 75 students came together for the annual leadership conference, but this also included guests from Kamehameha, Mililani and Moanalua Middle Schools.  Participants were treated to workshops, games, ice breakers, and other team building skills.  Hopefully, they learned a lot and will take it with them to their various organizations.  Pictured above are (top to bottom):  Facilitators lead a group ice breaker,  participants try the ice breaker, a workshop teaches communication skills, the "Mew" group performs their winning music video, and finally, there were too many for a group hug so we settled for a group picture!

5/23-24: LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE PREP QUICKER THAN EXPECTED!

Officers spent a couple of days after commencement preparing for the SA Leadership Conference to take place on May 28th.  Most of the work was already done so the preparation time was minimal.  Time was spent preparing the banners and nametags and putting the conference booklet together.  Pictured above is the banner painting session in the Student Center hallway.
